Descrição
Levon Aronian won a pawn and had chances to score a hugely important win with the black pieces in Game 1 of the Berlin FIDE Grand Prix Final, but a complicated middlegame suddenly left Hikaru Nakamura as the player pushing for victory. Only what Hikaru called an “amazing” defence saved the day for Levon, who let his opponent queen a pawn but was just in time to force a draw by perpetual check. Levon will now have White in Wednesday’s Game 2.
